ザ・アメリカンハードロックを感じさせるエアロスミス。数々の名曲を世に残している。誰もが知っている名曲と言えば、RUM-DMCによってカバーされた「Walk This Way（ウォーク・ディス・ウェイ）」だろうか。

この曲は1973年に発売された彼らの1stアルバム「野獣生誕（Aerosmith）」からのシングルカットされた曲。ジョー・ペリーの印象的なコードバッキングから始まるスローバラードではあるが、サビではハードロックならでは熱い感情が迸る。そして、なんと言ってもスティーヴン・タイラーのあのシャウト。あれを初めて聴いた時の衝撃といったら。これが1stアルバムとして出されたら人気が出ないわけはないだろう。

しかし、邦題となった「野獣生誕」とはなんだろうか笑　確かに何かの雑誌でスティーブが全身を緑に塗っている写真があったが、特殊メイクなしで爬虫類かと思ったのは、私だけではないだろう。
